Hanif Joshaghani co-founded Symend in 2016 and has since led the company to become a recognized leader in the debt recovery industry, leveraging behavioral science to create personalized customer experiences. Under his leadership, Symend has received accolades such as the Microsoft Canada Impact Award, Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50™ and Fast 500™, and The Globe & Mail’s Top Growing Companies list.

Hanif brings over 15 years of experience spanning capital markets, energy finance, and entrepreneurship. His diverse background includes leading roles in investment banking and technology, where he developed expertise in scaling businesses and raising capital. Beyond Symend, Hanif is deeply involved in the Canadian tech ecosystem, mentoring startups and investing in innovative ventures.

Community engagement

Hanif is a member of the Business Council of Canada (BCC) and Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). He also serves on the boards of the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation (ACHF), contributing to community development and supporting the next generation of innovators.
